Caroline Caldwell

| Executive Director & CEO

Ms. Caroline Caldwell, PhD (ABD) is an advocate & believer of 2nd Chances!

Caroline is the Founder & Director of the non-profit New Mind Health and Care. An organization that provides free specialized behavioral modification services to individuals, families, and children affected by incarceration or criminal histories. Caroline is the creator of the ReFlight Curriculum for cognitive behavioral education and change. She has over 20+ years’ experience as a clinical mental health therapist and 10 years’ experience as a Federal Officer. 

Caroline is also the sole proprietor of ReFlight LLC a consulting firm specializing in providing behavioral and life coaching services to organizations to improve employee function, retention, and the development of positive work culture.

Caroline is also a certified life coach who specializes in helping people define and meet their goals for personal development. She is a fierce advocate for marginalized groups including LGBTQ+, QPOC, and returning citizens.

Caroline believes in engaging the community with one another to foster diversity and understanding via TED/TEDx. She is the Co-organizer and Curator of TEDxHeritageGreen and has been a TEDxGreenville speaker, curator, and strategic team member for over 11 years

New Mind provides cognitive behavioral services to 4 programs: 

  • GRAVITY – Gang Reduction and Violence Intervention Targeting Youth

  • Safe Neighborhoods – Services targeting adults with history of violence 

  • EMERGE – Embracing and Managing Education for Reentry & Gainful Employment 

  • AAMSI – African-American Male Scholarship and College Retention

 

Yvonne Davis

| GRAVITY Coordinator

Ms. Yvonne Davis is a community services advocate. She has partnered with New Mind Health and Care through the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office in 2008 and is currently the GRAVITY Coordinator and Liaison with the Greenville Police Department. Ms. Davis leads a majority of strategic partnership meetings to collectively implement the OJJDP Comprehensive Gang Model. She communicates the GRAVITY (Gang Reduction And Violence Intervention Targeting Youth) mission to various audiences throughout Greenville County while facilitating Gang Awareness presentations for parents, schools personnel and other agency representatives.  She is the initial point of contact for the GRAVITY program referrals from officers, schools and families for prevention and intervention services.

James Young

| Outreach and Engagement Coordinator

Mr. James William Young, III is founder/CEO of AHHIM Inc.  Before stepping into a role of that stature he got his experience and start as the Director of Community Engagement for Neighborhood Benches. James' role was to report how movements and advocacy can change the direction of thinking in his community for youth who were at risk of community violence and gang involvement. He dedicated his time to providing mentorship, trauma focused groups rooted in Credible Messaging and committed to delivering messages to our younger generation with a direct focus on cultural competency & connection. Mr. Young is a person who has lived with & has first hand experience with community violence and gang conflict resolution. Mr. Young is an asset to the GRAVITY program.
