Juvenile Justice & Diversion Services

Prevention & Intervention for Ages 8 to 18 Years Old

 

School, Community, & Group Violence Prevention and Intervention Program

New Mind Health & Care delivers services to participants and family members referred for community and group violence from the Department of Juvenile Justice and the community. The CBO services will include Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Counseling, Credible Messaging, Outreach and Engagement, Violence Interruption, Mentorship, and Educational/Vocational Support.

 
 
  • Prevention work will build behavioral and social changes that will provide our younger clients with tools and strategies to identify early issues that may lead to adjudication and violent behavior.

    The team will provide opportunities and services to our participants, ages 8 through 11, and their family. These services include Outreach & Engagement, Mentoring, Educational/Vocational Support. This approach will help our youth, families and ultimately facilitate positive change in the community.

  • The Intervention Team will work to build behavioral and social changes that will address issues that may lead to adjudication and help clients reduce recidivate and violent behavior. The team creates a case management plan that offers comprehensive services to our participants, ages 12 through 17, and their family. These services include Outreach & Engagement, Cognitive Behavioral Counseling, Mentoring, Educational/Vocational Support. This approach will help our youth, families and ultimately facilitate positive change in the community.

  • The primary goal of the mentor is to reach out to CGVI participants and retain them in the program by forming relationships and providing them with support, advocacy, pro-social role modeling, and encouragement. The coordinator will supervise the mentors who are assigned in this role.
